playing games at work

Like half of Lebanon, one of my officemates and I spent much of the afternoon playing Douma, the brilliant new “political” computer game. We hooted and hollered at the different politicians’ secret weapons – Aoun drops a TV set, Berri whacks his opponents with a gavel, and the Hizbullah political leader brings out a tank and shoots missiles.

Playing Douma made me wish that I had put my own frustrations with the political wasteland here to better use. The creator(s?) of this game have made lemonade – actually, more than that – a brilliant lemon souffle – out of the lemon-y situation in which we are living.

Play it – you’ll see what I mean!
