view from on high: Beirut under construction

On Easter I took advantage of our host’s lofty perch to take some photographs looking toward the sea (and a few more looking down, which earned him an unhappy call from the adjacent building’s security guards. oh well.). Don’t be deceived by the construction cranes – work on many of Beirut’s half-built skyscrapers appears to have slowed down, presumably at the request of investors worried about the city’s future.
