fooling the people: still more joy from SANA

The past five days have been so busy that I have had little time to spend online.

Now that my life has returned to its normal pace, I am pleased to find that SANA has welcomed me back with a delightful typo. Under the header Syrian Dailies – Headlines, the website announces the … following:

The Syrian dailies on Monday highlighted the fooling headlines:

Oh, those witty SANA staffers. What appears to be a typo is no doubt a clever reference to Abraham Lincoln’s famous statement that one can fool some people all of the time, and all people some of the time, but one cannot fool all people all of the time.

Such good advice for state-run media, wherever in the world they may be found.
